Introduction:
Ahoy landlubbers, fellow pirates & Captain Hook! I present to you a map that I've been working on and off since January 7, 2011 (legit development Hell on this one sadly ). I've resumed mapping on it as of February 12, 2019 after not touching it since 2015(!). It is a clan map but I feel the need to share the development progress elsewhere for more suggestions, comments & criticism. Keep an eye out for progress!
Description:
This is a 2-fort style CTF map that takes place on a planet that was designed as an experiment by an unknown alien race which are classified by the N.E.G. There are a series of islands in the middle of the ocean, and they have been purchased by a Liandri Corporation scout for an undisclosed sum of money. However, during construction of the Fort Prevorsi Citadel Complex, they ran out of money and development ceased...albeit temporarily. The RoninUnrealFX Clan took notice and decided to sponsor Liandri in constructing this arena, and henceforth construction resumed with much fanfare. This arena is considered by many deadly by design, and as an added bonus, the ocean that surrounds the area is made up of a highly acidic substance that borderlines sulphuric acid rather than magma, but no known name of the substance is permitted to be disclosed by the N.E.G. to the general public due to security matters.
Notes:
First and foremost, this is an EARLY build of the map, it's not even Beta yet! Also, due to a rescale of the map (it was overscaled before), the movers (ALL of them!) have to be recreated! So the movers are slightly buggy because of that. Also, only one of the bases are being worked on ATM! Once I have the blue base finished up (trimmed, fully weaponized, pickups placed, decorations installed, etc.), I will then be working on the middle part of the level and forking the base to the red side! I have done testing in the past of a twinned blue base acting as a red one, and I got the schematics all worked out for the middle part of the level (twin tunnels and wide bridge). BTW, as you can see in the video, the Back part of the level being held by supports will be Tweaked to look more realistic -- I'm not pleased with them. Also, the back elevators connecting the basement to the upper deck will be redone entirely (as Glass Tubes), and a window porthole will be introduced in the font two elevator shafts going from the inside of the "Main Hall" of the castle to the upper deck. I will be sending out test builds of the map out once Alpha 3 itself has been finished, or Alpha 3.1, so to anyone who wants to become a map tester, write in this thread here or PM me (or contact me by email or Discord), your choice!
