I've played UT99 a million times before as well as reinstalling the program hundreds of time and today was the first day I had any issues. I ran the install and it finished just as it normally does. This time however once I double click the UT icon it ran the intro screen but the ESC key isn't functioning at all to push me to the next stage which would be to set up you character etc. So all it does is hit the intro screen and once its done it says to hit ESC to get into the game but nope, the ESC key does nothing at it loops and the annoying cycle starts again. I miss this game and just want to get it up and running again, so any help would be just great.

Oh, somebody should be coming along to help soon I would think. There are a lot of members who do not log in every day, but should spot this.
Maybe just use this post as an "Introduction" thread and post about your issue with UT99 installing in one of our topic areas like our section called: Unreal Tournament 99/G.O.T.Y. - *PLAYER HOW-TO* hooksutplace.freeforums.net/board/8/ut99-player
Yup, I was told by someone to modify the .ini file and it brought me to the screen before the setup for your toon etc. and thats it, it stops there and using the windows key did nothing. I've never had an issue running UT even in compatibility mode
Thank you. I have the whole Max Headroom series as I was 12 when it was on TV and I was obsessed with it. Aside from that I'm doing a clean install of the game... This was the pic someone sent me concerning this. They said to make sure these highlighted areas were typed out just as they appear there. Now this guy may have no clue but it got me to the big Unreal screen and then it crashed.
you must test with my UT ... you can just extract it on your desktop and run it with no install
If you want the game outside C right click on the exe and open with winrar (or other uzip program). Then slide the folder "UnrealTournament" where you want on your pc. Launch the game with the UnrealTournament.exe in the System folder UnrealTournament where you just drop it. Same method to find the archive WarConfig
