Man, been forever since I had done any photoshop so I'm gonna be out of wack. Since it may be months before I get on to it, I want to know what are some recommendation like size or such? I see the ones on the front so I wanted to be sure I am fitting in the right description and not the crazy size.

Just TRY NOT to exceed a current, modern , average screen width haha. We will think of nice proportions. Thanks for asking, good post!

Had to do it because I do now have a wide screen, but that may not work on the standard size screen so I don't wanna screw up between the 2.

Its always a good rule to work big. You can always scale down or crop and still maintain a sharp image, but you can't scale up and expect it to look good. And always have your PSD file saved in a save place with layers intact and fonts not rasterized in any way. That way its easy to edit and make things fit as needed.
